Google Play Removed Bad Apps

Google has removed more than 700,000 Bad Apps in 2017

Google play took a strict action in 2017 against the “bad apps” by removing the apps and the associated developers account from the Play store permanently. As per the Android developers blog, “about 99 percent of apps with abusive contents were removed from the Google Play store before anyone could install them”.

Machine learning is proven to be a helpful step in this process, as the apps are identified with identifiers like malware, inappropriate content, and impersonation.

Check out what these identifiers mean:

Impersonation

The major reason for the removal of any app is copy content, whether it is a written content, title or logo. Deceptive methods like “confusable Unicode characters or hiding impersonating app icons in a different locale” are utilized by the impersonators to carry out the practice.

Malware

Another major red flag is the potentially harmful applications (PHA) which can be harmful to the device of the user. The list includes apps for fraud, phishing, and Trojans.

Inappropriate content

Google is in no mood for allowing any kind of inappropriate content. According to the Google’s definition, the inappropriate content includes illegal activities, extreme violence, hatred, and pornography.

Conclusion

Its time to check out your application, make sure your app doesn’t have any kind of malware, inappropriate content or impersonations.

If you were considering to develop an android app, you need to hire android app developers that are proficient and experienced in their field.

If you were about to consider hiring any freelancer then that might be a mistake because most of the freelancers use mobile app clones which will be a major reason for removal of your app.

So get in touch with an android app development company and don’t use clone apps.
